Silvina Vergara<\/h1>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Silvina Vergara is an artist, educator, and facilitator. Her work brings together music, sound, body, experience, and learning to create spaces for listening and presence. Her practice begins with an idea that runs through all of her work: before sound, there is listening. Listening to the body, to others, to the surroundings, to silence, and to what usually goes unnoticed.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/section>\n

Before sound, there is listening.<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Music is part of her identity and her way of relating to the world. From there, Silvina explores voice, movement, perception, and experience as forms of connection. As an educator, she shares knowledge and tools for exploration and learning; as a facilitator, she creates the conditions for each person to listen, feel, express, and discover through their own experience. Her practice does not seek to offer quick answers: it invites people to make space for what is already there\u2014in the body, in the breath, in an emotion, in silence, or in a voice that needs to take shape.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\"\"\/\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/section>\n

Silvina\u2019s journey brings together artistic training, creative work, teaching, and service. Over time, music, voice, body, and listening have come together in different contexts of learning, conversation, and experience. 1994<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Sound as a Path<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t

She began training in sound with Tom Kenyon, bringing that exploration together with her background in classical singing and movement. Since then, the meeting of sound, voice, and body has remained central to how she listens and learns through experience.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

More than a Decade<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

The School of Service<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t

She facilitated sound and movement programs with cancer support groups at San Francisco General Hospital. Silvina describes this experience as one of her greatest teachers of compassion, resilience, and humanity, and as a formative period of learning through service and presence.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

She currently offers in-person sessions in California, continues teaching, and develops new independent experiences that bring together sound, voice, breath, movement, and awareness.
